How to Read a Needlepoint Canvas Listing

Updated October 25, 2026

A needlepoint canvas listing should tell you the design, the designer, the mesh count, the size and the price, and whether the canvas is in stock. Stores write their own listings, so the same canvas can be described differently at each store. This guide explains each part of a listing and how a canvas page in this directory brings the stores' listings together.

The parts of a store's listing

Title

Usually the design's name, sometimes with the designer, mesh or size added. Titles for one design vary from store to store, so this directory groups listings of the same design under one canvas page.

Designer

The designer or design business that created the canvas. Some listings name the designer in the title, some in a separate field. On this site every canvas page links to its designer at /designers.

Mesh count

Holes per inch, such as 13 or 18. It decides how fine the stitches are and what thread weight suits the canvas. Many listings leave it out. See mesh counts explained.

Size

Usually the design area in inches, width by height, for example "5 × 7". Some listings give the overall canvas size instead. See canvas sizes.

Price and currency

The store's own price for the listing. Check the currency and whether the price covers only the canvas. See canvas prices.

What is included

Look for words such as:

Stock and ordering

A listing may say in stock, sold out, made to order, or pre-order. Many canvases are painted in small batches, so a sold-out canvas may be orderable with a wait. If the listing does not say, ask the store.

Photos

Photos show the painting but can differ from the canvas in color and detail. Some show a stitched model rather than the painted canvas. A stitched model shows what is possible, not what you will receive.

How a canvas page here is laid out

Each canvas page in this directory brings the listings for one design together.

Summary and quick facts

The page opens with a short summary, then a quick-facts table: designer, mesh, size, size category, themes, the number of stores listing it, the number with it in stock, and the price range. "Not stated" means no store listing told us.

Where to buy

One row per store, lowest price first:

Column What it shows
Store The store's name, linked to its page in this directory
Location City and state, or country
Price The store's listed price, with cents, or "No price listed"
Stock "In stock", "Sold out" or "Stock not tracked"
Listing A "View at store" link to the listing on the store's own website

A row marked "the designer's own store" is the designer selling its own canvas directly.

What the stock column means

We show "In stock" or "Sold out" only when we have a confirmed stock reading for that listing from the last 72 hours. Otherwise the column says "Stock not tracked", which means we do not know, not that it is unavailable. Stores whose stock we track, as of October 26, 2026: 20. Stock can change between our readings, so confirm on the store's page.

Price history

The lowest and highest listed price over the last 90 days and, for a canvas with tracked stock at three or more stores, how many price changes there were across stores.

Movement

When a canvas is listed at three or more stores whose stock we track, the page shows how many of those stores it sold out at or was restocked at in the last 30 or 90 days. Counts never name a store. See when canvases sell out.

Similar canvases

Other canvases from the same designer first, then canvases that share its themes.

Dates

"Updated" is the last day the page's data changed. It does not move unless something on the page changed.

A quick checklist

Frequently asked questions

What should a needlepoint canvas listing tell me?

At least the design's name, the designer, the mesh count, the size of the design area and the price. Good listings also say what is included and whether the canvas is in stock or must be ordered.

What does Stock not tracked mean on this site?

It means we have no confirmed stock reading for that listing from the last 72 hours, so we do not say whether it is in stock. Check the store's own page.

Does the listed size include the margin?

Usually the size is the design area only, with blank canvas around it. If a listing is unclear, ask the store which measurement it gives.

Why do two listings for one canvas look different?

Stores write their own listings, with their own photos, titles and prices. Some include threads or a stitch guide. The canvas itself is the same design from the same designer.
